Major labels have warehouses full of unsold vinyl that can be recycled into new records -we have arrangements in place with various partners to recycle their old vinyl into our brand new records. Sonic Wax Pressing offers free collection of unused records.

We use a die-cutter, lovingly nicknamed "the chopper", to recycle old vinyl. This tool removes the centre label portion of each record, allowing us to turn the remaining 85% into brand new recycled vinyl records.

The remaining 85% is then fed into the grinder -a machine which, as the name suggests, grinds the plastic up into fine pellets that we can then feed back into our vinyl pressing machines.

As a part of our commitment to ecovinyl, every single one of our standard black records is composed of 20% recycled vinyl. We think that's pretty groovy.
